Incident Resource Agreements

Thank you for your interest in assisting with wildland firefighting in Oregon! Private contractors provide an array of firefighting resources to ODF and its partnering agencies for wildfire mitigation, including aircraft, hand crews, heavy equipment, engines/tenders, medical units, security services and others. These assets and services are secured by ODF Call-When-Needed (CWN) Incident Resource Agreements (IRA). IRA contractors may work within specific ODF geographic areas, or under statewide ODF jurisdiction.

 

2023 UPDATE

ODF is in the process of making several amendments to the 2022-2024 IRA to simplify the application process and provide clarifying language on various topics including daily meal compensation, government paid medivac, updates to training/qualification requirements and others. The IRA rate guide will be updated to reflect an across-the-board-increase from 2022 for all listed resources for 2023.

The open application period for the 2023 fire year is anticipated to begin early April 2023 and extends through the month of July 2023. Additional applications may be accepted after July contingent on fire activity and resource needs on lands protected by ODF. During the open application period, current contractors will be able to add/edit resources and rates for their currently executed agreements and new contractor applications will be accepted.
