Oregon Department of Forestry supports the mission of Firewise USA, a public education program administered by the National Fire Protection Association. Firewise is designed to teach people how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourage neighbors to work together and take action now to prevent losses. The focus of this program is on creating a “defensible” fire-resistance space at a neighborhood level.
