The Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District employs permanent staff, as well as seasonal positions including forest officers, firefighters, dispatchers and detection specialists.

The following positions are currently open:



Wildland Fire Dispatcher – Wildland Fire Dispatch Coordinator – Central Point 

Forest Management Technician – Grants Pass 


Seasonal positions typically fall between May – October, include paid on-the-job training and are flexible for fall school schedules. Applicants must be 18 years or older and hold a valid Oregon driver’s license. All positions close 6/30/22, however interviews are conducted throughout the spring; early application is encouraged.
