The Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District employs permanent staff, as well as seasonal positions including forest officers, firefighters, dispatchers and detection specialists.

Seasonal positions are now posted for the 2024 fire season, typically hired June – September/October each year, depending on the fire season. These jobs are flexible for school schedules.

While application deadlines are late May, several rounds of hiring will take place this spring. It is encouraged to submit applications early.
